AI Design Studio is a Canva-style web application that enables businesses and marketing teams to create, edit, and resize professional marketing creatives using AI. The platform combines centralized brand management, an in-browser Polotno editor, AI-assisted design generation, and automated smart resizing into a single workflow.
The core capability of the platform is AI Smart Resize. Users design a single creative (for example, an Instagram Post), and the AI automatically generates optimized layouts for multiple platforms such as Instagram Story, Facebook Post, LinkedIn Post, and YouTube Thumbnail by producing Polotno JSON layouts while preserving the brand identity, spacing, typography, and visual hierarchy.
What we built
AI Smart Resize Engine
- Developed the platform's primary AI feature that transforms a single design into multiple platform-specific creatives.
- Used Claude AI to analyze the original design and generate optimized Polotno JSON layouts for different aspect ratios.
- Automatically repositioned text, images, logos, icons, and backgrounds while maintaining visual balance and brand consistency.
- Eliminated manual resizing for social media campaigns by generating multiple ready-to-edit designs from a single source.
Polotno Design Editor
- Integrated the Polotno editor to provide a browser-based Canva-like editing experience.
- Enabled drag-and-drop editing, layer management, text editing, image manipulation, canvas resizing, and template customization.
- Loaded AI-generated JSON directly into the editor, allowing users to continue editing after automatic generation.
Brand Kit Management
- Built modules for managing logos, brand colors, typography, fonts, and reusable assets.
- Stored media assets in Supabase Storage while maintaining metadata in PostgreSQL.
- Ensured every AI-generated design adhered to the organization's branding guidelines.
Impact
- Reduced marketing production time by allowing users to create one design and automatically generate multiple platform-specific versions.
- Eliminated repetitive manual resizing through AI-generated Polotno layouts.
